Upstream has hosted a Juried Small Works show for 32 years. It has become a much loved highlight of our winter season.

Our Juried Photography shows draw photographers from all over the region and the country. Upstream genuinely enjoys getting to know all these photographers and their work.

Paper is remarkable. It is a renewable resource, forgiving, relatively inexpensive and endlessly variable. Each year since 2014, Upstream has hosted a show devoted solely to work on paper.

The human figure has been the subject of drawings since time immemorial. It remains one of our most compelling challenges as artists. Perspective, volume, and light are all critical factors, yet none is more important than the ability to communicate the humanity of our subjects.
