Zoë Denahy
Denahy characterizes her work as geometric abstractions and reveals how she sees "spatial planes that recede to a distant horizon line. Using color, light and form, I try to create a sense of balance, while the paint lends itself to an airy atmosphere. Brushstrokes and marks are broken down into their simplest forms in support of greater abstraction. I only use what I feel is key to the expression, nothing superfluous"
Denahy spends much of her time painting en plein air on Napeague Bay as well as the surrounding areas of eastern Long Island.
