“I feel the line tells the story.

"I start with a notion of the natural landscape and then allow for any deviation; thoughts of man made structures, the visual impact this creates. I look for line, whether it is made in pencil, a scratch on a surface or a piece of manipulated wire.

"I embrace creative accidents and try not to allow my own particular taste block the path towards the outcome of a piece.  By this I mean making statements -- whether they be a brush stroke, sawing a piece of wood in half or making a color choice -- without any preconceptions before assessing them for their merits or failures.

"The repetition of the process and the responses I make must culminate in a balanced, harmonious piece.  That achievement, or striving to reach it, is what interests and motivates me to continually create."
