Susan Richman

Richman is an award winning, nationally exhibited photographer who worked as a professional in NYC before evolving into an artist and educator. Her work has appeared in numerous museums, exhibitions and publications worldwide. She has also received prestigious international recognition, including multiple accolades in annual Julia Cameron Awards for Women Photographers, Best in Show at a recent Salmagundi Club National Juried Exhibition, also as a finalist in the annual Larry Salley Photography Award, as well as in Open Walls Arles.

Richman’s interests lie in exploring the link between existence, decay and loss. For the past decade, she has primarily concentrated on photographing images that focus on the damage to our environment by creating images that capture and preserve the fleeting nature of our world. Through art she hopes to increase awareness and inspire change. Prior to Covid, she was a teacher at The International Center for Photographer in NYC. In addition to Upstream Gallery in New York, she is also represented by dk Gallery in Georgia.
