To the public, an artist is known for a recognizable style. But for artists, the creative process is a journey, inspired often by a restless need to get beyond where they’ve been. For this show, we invite artists to submit pairs of small pieces demonstrating how wide a net they are apt to cast in their search for ways to express a largely intuitive vision. 

Venue: The exhibition will be at Upstream Gallery, Hastings on Hudson, NY from January 4th to January 18th

Eligible Work: US National entries in all media are welcome including drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, and sculpture are all eligible for this juried show. Successful entries will demonstrate clear thematic relationships among two or more pieces. Photography is not eligible for this exhibition; we hold a separate show for photographic work. Specifications: Maximum framed size may not exceed 20 inches in any direction including frame or base.

Accepted pieces must be properly wired or mounted for hanging. 3-D work must be ready for wall-mounting or have a base included. The gallery reserves the right to reject poorly presented pieces.

IMPORTANT DATES

Deadline for Entries,Wednesday December 3rd at midnight. All entries must be made via Submittable.

Tuesday December 30th, by 5 pm deadline for delivery of accepted work, if shipping

Tuesday December 30th, 10 a.m. to 2 pm: Local artists deliver artwork to gallery.

Sunday January 4th 2026, Opening of exhibition

Sunday, January 4th, Opening Reception 2-5 pm

Sunday, January 18th, Last day of exhibition

Monday, January 19th, Local Artists pick up work
