New Artists on the Upstream Roster

All of us here at Upstream are pleased to welcome three new artists for 2012: Maralyn Matlick (Painter), Susan Richman (Photographer) and Daniel van Benthuysen (Painter). Each offers a special perspective, a high degree of professionalism and we are honored to have them "in the family".

UPSTREAM GALLERY is a cooperative with up to 25 members practicing various disciplines including sculpture, painting, printmaking, photography, digital imagery and more.

Our mission is to provide prime exposure for each member while offering high quality exhibitions to the community. Click the names to the right to view the work of our members.

Upstream Gallery Membership Information

Our annual dues reflect an equal sharing of the yearly expenses of maintaining the gallery.
Applicants may choose to apply for a full or associate membership.
Full membership includes a one-person show in one of the two galleries, rotating between the large and small gallery every 18 months to 2 years.
Associate membership includes sharing one or the other of the two galleries with another artist every 18 months to 2 years, rotating between the two galleries as in full membership.
All members, associate and full, may participate in 2-3 group exhibitions every year.
The costs and promotion of all exhibitions, other than group shows, are the responsibility of the exhibiting artists.
Each member will take on a committee responsibility toward maintaining the business of the gallery.
There are monthly meetings of the full membership. All members are expected to participate.
Each member is responsible for “sitting” during gallery hours approximately once a month.

Annual Membership Fees:

Full members pay $1,000 in 2 equal payments. Associate members pay $500 in 2 equal installments. Payments are due on March 1, and September 1.

There is a one-time initiation fee of $100 for all new members.

New members are accepted by a majority vote at membership meetings.

To Apply for Membership:

Applications for membership are reviewed at each monthly meeting. Those interested may drop off a portfolio of their work, or a CD at the gallery prior to our meeting, which usually takes place on the second Thursday of the month @ 5:00 pm.

Alternatively, you may write to Upstreamgallery26@gmail.com with a request to have your work reviewed, and simply tell us your web site address. There are no meetings during July and August; Gallery Hours are Thursdays through Sundays, 12:30 – 5:30 pm.
